| Description |
Ōwakudani. The eggs are boiled in the sulphurous hot spring water until they are completely black. According to Wikipedia "Eating one adds seven years to your life. You may eat two for up to fourteen years, but eating a third is said to be highly unadvised." The eggs were sold in bags of six, and I ate all of them (not at once, though). I wonder what kind of an effect that has on my life expectancy... For people who don't feel like taking the hike to the hot springs, where the eggs are boiled, the eggs are transferred to the tourist centre on an egg ropeway. |
