中文（臺灣）：〈一針一線串起美麗衣裳-裁縫師傅劉蔡惠照〉，作者廖雅欣，2014年發表於《宜蘭縣第二屆智慧長者-長者是寶》專輯第五篇，該書為宜蘭縣政府發行，地址在宜蘭市縣政北路1號。 首段敘述劉蔡惠照，人生中有60年，縫製與設計衣服，也把孩子養大成人。劉蔡惠照出生於羅東，家裡開米店，有8個兄弟姊妹，她是大姊，14歲時國小畢業，15歲學裁縫，從選布、打版、剪裁和車縫，她均認真學習，也努力研究各種風格的服裝設計，並於1959年開創自己的裁縫工作室，這時她18歲。接著，提到結婚後曾隨著任公職的先生到台北，於台北榮美女裝社與人合夥，並在此學會製作旗袍。40歲左右，回到羅東開女裝社，生意極好，請了8個小姐來幫忙。文章後段提到，做裁縫真辛苦，她生了3男1女，均不想繼承衣缽，她也不勉強；而隨著時代變遷，工廠製造的成衣價格低、產量大，壓縮到她的手工訂做衣服，客源日漸減少，目前只接熟客訂製，處於半退休狀態。餘暇時，她會參與社區活動，活動中，只要有需要縫製衣服，她必定犧牲奉獻，為社區服務，後來則更勤於參加社區的進修課程。最後，作者寫著：「在縫紉機的踩踏之間，她早已找到屬於自己的精彩人生。」 |
