A titled iron plaque with raised, white text is mounted on a wooden post, standing in an area of turf alongside a cemetery drive.

In 1882, seven cast iron plaques with sections of the poem “The Bivouac of the Dead” by Theodore O’Hara were placed in the cemetery.
