Description
English: This image show some of the basic item for bride's Settlement (ịdu ụlọ)in Igbo culture of Eastern Nigeria,

Ịdu ụlọ items are given on the day of marriage and depending on the bride's family financial capability,. ịdu ụlọ items are items given to newly married couples as a head start by the bride's family. The basic items that must be in every ịdu ụlọ items according to tradition are baby item, spoons and plate, broom, set of pots mortar, pestle and box of clothes which are usually displayed on its own. Nowadays items for ịdu ụlọ are brought by most family on the Church Wedding reception hall instead of the traditional marriage day.

The items on the above image are box of clothes,cooker ( in the olden days it's firewood not gas cooker), plates, spoons, broom, gallon of oil, baby mini car, water flask, mortar and pestle.

Ngwá ịdu ụlọ bụ ihe ezi na ụlọ nwanyị na ebunye ya mgbe ọna alụ dị. Ihe ga adiriri na ihe edum ụlọ bụ ihe nwa, azịza, ịgbe akwa, ite, ngaji, efere, ikwe/Odo na aka odo.
