Summary[edit]

Description

English: Students digging in history and archeology dig in Samosdelsky settlement. Under their shovels and tassels, artifacts of the period of the Mongol-Tatar invasion are hidden. Not far from s. Self-finishing of the Kamyzyaksky district is a unique archaeological site - Samosdelsky settlement, the cultural layers of which contain the remains of three cities at once, successively replacing each other: the Khazar (IX – X century), the pre-Mongol time (XI – XII centuries) and the Golden Horde (XIII – XIV centuries). There is an opinion that the cultural layers of Samosdelsky settlement, dating from the 9th-10th centuries, are nothing but the remains of the ancient city of Itil - the capital of the Khazar Khaganate.
