Summary[edit]

Description
English: Hydrogel scaffolds are used in tissue engineering to replace damaged or lost tissues. In the picture, the stem cells cultured in the scaffold form a cellular network. The formation of the cell network by stem cells is one of the indicators of the functional activity of cells (cells for the formation of new tissue must interact with each other, the morphology characteristic of stem cells with multiple processes is also clearly visible) and allows in vitro to predict the regenerative potential of the tissue-substituting material.
