English: Interrogation of former mayor of Kerch, Timofey Vasilyevich Tokarev, who collaborated with the Nazis in Kerch during its occupation.

  • Author: Yevgeny Khaldei (Халдей Евгений Ананьевич), a Soviet Red Army naval officer and photographer working as correspondent for Russian News Agency TASS Photo Chronicle from 1936 to 1948

  • pikabu.ru: This is Timofey Tokarev, the mayor of Kerch. He was already the head of the city back in distant 1919, and after the arrival of Soviet power, he was deprived of property and voting rights. (Note: "such" voting rights were restored with the Stalin Constitution). He lived quietly hating this very authority, and waited for his moment. In 1941, when the Germans occupied Kerch, they offered the 65-year-old Tokarev the position of city mayor. He served zealously. He compiled lists of enemies of the new regime, organized a census of Jews, who were later shot in the Bagerovsky ravine, and ensured the confiscation of "excess" food from the residents of Kerch for the German army. Later, he was captured in the winter of 1942, when the city was liberated by Soviet troops, interrogated, and shot. Interestingly, both of his sons died in the Great Patriotic War while their father joined the collaborators.

This work is an information report (including photo report), which was created by an employee of TASS, ROSTA, or KarelfinTAG as part of that person’s official duties between July 10, 1925[3] and January 1, 1954, provided that it was first released in the stated period or was not released until August 3, 1993.

If the work was first published after the death (posthumous rehabilitation) of the author, copyright term is counted from January 1 of the year following the year of publication, provided that the work was published within 50 years after the death of the author who died (and was not posthumously rehabilitated) before January 1, 1943, or within 70 years after the death (posthumous rehabilitation) of the author who died (rehabilitated posthumously) between January 1, 1943 years before January 1, 1954.
