Description
Українська: «Панянки» – це особливий вид різдвяної випічки, здавна відомий на Котелевщині (Полтавська область, Україна) та у деяких суміжних регіонах. Вони є загальною назвою обрядового печива у вигляді дівчаток, коників, півників та пташечок. Традиційно «панянки» готують із пісного солодкого тіста у період різдвяного посту, фарбують у рожевий колір та розписують тоненькими узорами, які наносять різнокольоровою глазур’ю з паперового ріжечка. Особливість цих солодощів полягає у тому, що вони є невід’ємною частиною ритуалів та обрядів на зимові свята. Зокрема, 6 січня «панянками» щедро обдаровували «вечірників» хрещені батьки, а 7 січня, на Різдво, господарі ними пригощали колядників. Дівчатка отримували панночок, хлопчики – коників, а півників можна давати й тим, і іншим.
