Description

Ελληνικά: Μονή Αγ. Δημητρίου Αυγού. Η ίδρυση της μονής τοποθετείται στον 11ο αιώνα, ενώ ο τελικός φρουριακός χαρακτήρας της μονής πρέπει να διαμορφώθηκε στις πρώτες δεκαετίες του 16ου αιώνα, όταν η περιοχή αποτελούσε φέουδο των Παλαιολόγων. Η Μονή Αυγού γνώρισε ιδιαίτερη ακμή στις αρχές του 18ου αιώνα. Σύμφωνα με τον βενετό μηχανικό Βαντέϋκ, εκείνη την περίοδο ζούσαν στο μοναστήρι 16 καλόγηροι και 16 υπηρέτες που φρόντιζαν 127 άλογα, 3.000 πρόβατα και 800 γίδια....
