Summary[edit]
DescriptionĆIE B159 at Killarney - 1971 (1) (geograph 4328468).jpg |
English: ĆIE B159 at Killarney - 1971 (1) ĆIE General Motors built Bo-Bo No. B159 pulls a passenger train out of Killarney. This is thought to be the 09.45 passenger working from Cork to Tralee, which connected with the 06.30 Dublin - Cork mail train. The first vehicle is a 4-wheel heating van (common on ĆIE trains of the era), while the last vehicle is a 4-wheel mail van, which will be left in Tralee. As Killarney station is at the end of a spur, this train reversed out of the station before resuming its journey to Tralee. Behind the train can be glimpsed an annex for the Great Southern Hotel, now wholly obscured by trees. |
