Summary[edit]
The figure wears a belted, pleated tunic in tartan (crudely represented as just black lines on a yellow ground), tight blue shorts (or a sort also worn in Ireland in this period), black shoes, and a light red mantle; he carries a claymore sword, and has a dirk at his belt. The image would date from 1567 or later (not 1560, as the other copy of this image says), because de Heere was not in Britain until 1567. This is a cropped version, with a water-droplet mark cleaned up. |
