Description

Beeldhouwer Ton Mooy was jaren in de weer met het restaureren van de versierselen van de Sint-Jans Kathedraal in Den Bosch. Daarnaast vervaardigde hij 16 nieuw ontworpen beelden van de luchtboogstoelen. Met zijn medewerkers heeft hij nu ook nog 25 engelen in elkaar geknutseld. Toen was het tijd voor een grap. Mooy stelde voor een engel te voorzien van straalmotoren in plaats van vleugeltjes en een broek in plaats van een rok. Dat ging de kunstcommissie te ver. Daarom heeft Mooy nu een engel uitgerust met een mobiele telefoon, dat mocht dan wel. Mooy verklaart: “Het is een mobieltje met één toets voor een directe verbinding met God'.
