Summary[edit]

Description
English: "Western Star". Steam locomotives were used regularly on the West Coast Main Line until 1968. The "Britannia" class engine No. 70025 named Western Star was heading southwards from Shap towards Tebay. The line has since been electrified. This is close to the highest point of this line in England - Shap Summit. The wild moorland landscape of the Shap Fells is visible.
