Summary[edit]

Description
English: "The Snake Road", New Forest This track goes from the B3078 road north-east of Godshill to the site of Ashley Lodge. When this area was used as an aerial bombing range during the second world war this track was nicknamed "The Snake Road" after the sinuous route it took across Stone Quarry Bottom to Cockley Hill. There is a substantial bridge in the bottom below, out of sight in this photograph.
