Summary[edit]

Description
English: "The Earl of Aberdeen" The old cannon outside St Swithun's Church was captured at Sevastopol during the Crimean War. Lord Aberdeen was Britain's Prime Minister then, hence the cannon's nickname. Vernacular red brick buildings line the town centre streets, including the former coaching inn, The Vine Inn.
