gate, theBureau of Information, another granite build-ing beside the same gateway and last but byno means least the great Tabernacle, one ofthe most noted buildings in the world. ThisTabernacle is surmounted by a dome-shapedroof 250 feet in length, erected without postor pillar. The building seats 10.000 peopleand here are held the general meetings of the EMERY-HOLMES APARTMENTS ANDEAGLE GATE. Mormon Church and its semi-annual con-ferences. The acoustics of the Tabernacleis remarkable, so faint a sound as the fall-ing of a pin being heard at a distance of 250feet. Within the Tabernacle is one of thegreatest pipe organs in the world and thefinest in cost and tone. Its organist, Mr. J. J.McClellan, is a native of Utah, and his accom-paniments lead a choir of 600 voices directedbv Evan Stevens. This choir received thesecond prize at Chicagos Worlds Fair, butwas defeated by a body of singers which wasnot regularly organized but selected for theoccasion. Besides, there is a Juvenile choir
