Italiano: Il foglio raffigura l’Albero dell’amore, una rappresentazione satirica delle relazioni fra i sessi: gli uomini sono appollaiati sui rami di un albero in cima al quale troneggia l’Amore, mentre le donne cercano di farli scendere, talvolta ricorrendo alla seduzione, ma tuttavia non e sufficiente. Il modo più radicale consiste nel tagliare il tronco dell’albero: due donne a questo scopo utilizzano una sega da boscaiolo, mentre altre tirano l’albero con una corda.
English: The leaf depicts the "Tree of Love", a satirical representation of the relationships between the sexes: men are perched on the branches of a tree at the top of which the Love reigns, while women try to get them down, sometimes resorting to seduction, but yet it is not enough. The most radical way is to cut the tree trunk: two women for this purpose use a lumberjack saw, while others pull the tree with a rope. |
