A Chihuahua or a Great Dane? Or a wolf, the progenitor? We have hundreds of breeds with completely different looks. That's why many breeds have their own category, both in Commons and in Wikipeda. Images of individual breeds have already been chosen as VIs, as have horse breeds and other domestic animals. With domesticated plants we have the same situation. Just think of ornamental plants, such as roses. Again, many categories in Commons and Wikipedia. And also here already existing VIs of cultivated forms. And why should "Rosa 'Surrey'" or "Narcissus 'Tahiti' " and others be a VI, but "Nymphaea 'Wilhelma'" and "Nymphaea 'Purple Fantasy'" not? Result: 0 support, 0 oppose => undecided.
