Scope Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope:
Rungis wholesale market (interior)
Used in Global usage
Reason This geocoded image illustrates well the fact that the Marché international de Rungis is an important wholesale food market; location identifiable here thanks to the geocode but also to the sign in the picture. Used in 9 pages in 7 sister projects. --Myrabella (talk) 13:10, 30 March 2011 (UTC) -- Myrabella (talk)[reply]
Review
(criteria)
  •  Comment In this category I see three absolutely equal photos, as a matter of illustration, composition and quality, representing three different pavilions in this wholesale market. What makes you believe that the vegetables are more important than the butcher's products or the seafood (excepting your authorship) ;)?--MrPanyGoff 17:35, 30 March 2011 (UTC) Also don't forget to specify the scope name as an inside view ;) because tomorrow someone is going to nominate a photo like this one...--MrPanyGoff 17:57, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment It isn't because I am a veggie that I chose that image (I am not ;-) My reasons are i) the fruit and vegetable sector is the most important of the Rungis market in terms of area, companies operating and turnover of wholesalers at the market, in millions € (see 1); ii) a minor argument: as we can read the word "Rungis" on the left side of the picture, we know where we are just looking at the photo. "interior" subscope added.--Myrabella (talk) 20:04, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Photos were allowed during the visit I made. I noticed that Rungis market itself shares photos on Flickr (in a somewhat odd way, but with a mention "Photo libre de droit"(out of copyright), example), so I assume it's OK. Nevertheles, I blurred faces of people working. --Myrabella (talk) 21:19, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment Please note that there is an article about this wholesale market in various Wikipedias, so the scope isn't too narrow to me. Moreover, Rungis is said to be "the largest wholesale food market in the world" or "the largest agribusiness platform in the world". Some figures in the annual report on line on the market website. Side comment regarding the number of images in competition: Rungis market is a professional area; amateur photographers catching views there are rare. In addition, I would draw your attention on the fact that some other candidates on the VIC page compete alone, without any challenger in their category. On the contrary, one could "provide recognition to the contributor who have made an effort to contribute images of difficult subjects", which is one of the purposes of this project. --Myrabella (talk) 17:35, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
