  •  Comment Camera location: Sector ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha. {{Location}} doesn't seem to work with that encoding style. Adam Cuerden (talk) 20:01, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's hard to compare them, but I'd prefer either a (computed) axial view, showing the spiral structure, or a terrestrial photograph like File:Deathvalleysky nps big.jpg. The nominated computed lateral view may contain much information, but nothing special in review size, therefore I  Oppose. --Ikar.us (talk) 18:21, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Support Note that the scope isn't simply "Milky Way" but "Milky Way galaxy". Advice taken, I support it, as an exceptionnal image and the most valuable one among the available images for this scope. --Myrabella (talk) 20:25, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not the candy bar? Now I've read the lengthy explanation und understand that this is really a photograph from earth. The above comment made me believe it's the output of an astronomy simulation software, a computed view from somewhere outside the galaxy. Suggest to add a summary to the file description. --Ikar.us (talk) 21:37, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • Not expert enough to summarize the explanation given on the ESO website. This explanation says that it is a "plane of our Milky Way Galaxy"; we could add a link in the text to the GigaGalaxy Zoom project page if it answered your suggestion to clarify how this image has been made. --Myrabella (talk) 11:42, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
      • This explanation is the same is the image description. But it doesn't say the image is a plan(e), but we see the plane of the galaxy on it. And it suggests that it's a view of the (somplete) earth's sky, just in a special cartographic projection tofocus on the Milky Way. This is confirmed by the mentioned solar system objects. But it is contradicted by the statement that it places the viewer in front of the galaxy.  Oppose again because of contradictory description. --Ikar.us (talk) 18:00, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Maybe some complements to be found in this .pdf, especially points 3 and 4 explaining that for this final image, Serge Brunier captured the sky with a digital camera, mostly from ESO observatories at La Silla and Paranal in Chile. --Myrabella (talk) 18:29, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done Description completed + {{Eso}} template. --Myrabella (talk) 20:28, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Now I  Support. --Ikar.us (talk) 22:04, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
