Reason	This was one of my first shell pictures and I nominated it as VI of "Achatina achatina" in 2010, for it was labelled as such in my collection and I was not very familiar with the genus Achatina and its relatives. Some time ago there was a discussion on exactly this specimen [1], in which was persuasively demonstrated, that the specimen is not an Achatina achatina, but an Archachatina marginata var. ovum. So this picture can be no more longer a VI for Achatina achatina. Unfortunately we have only one other picture of A. achatina ([2]), and this picture hardly fulfills the criteria of a VI, therefore a MVR is not possible. So I propose to delete the VI status of this picture for Achatina achatina and I nominate it as VI for Archachatina marginata var. ovum. -- Llez (talk)
