Oversaturaded? That's what it actually looked like at the place the picture was taken. Cannot argue about DOF but I think it brings out the head. --Dschwen 20:17, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I've been to such places in the US. But still... it makes the picture somewhat difficult to appreciate (not enough contrast between the reptile and the background). Maybe a different position with respect to light would have helped? As for depth-of-field, if you have a camera with semi-manual settings, you can achieve it in such sunny situations by selecting a small aperture (I realize that it's not easy when you're in a hurry).
