- Oppose The shallow DOF means the eye(s) is out of focus. The green background and the leg are really distracting if the intended area of attention was the head of the bird (according to categorization). The details on the beak are good, but perhaps a closer crop of the bird with more of the head in focus would help I think. :) -- ~y (talk) 13:41, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
- Well, the focus is not on the eye but the eye is not too unfocused, there's still detail. What I wanted to show is a close up of this flamingo resting, not only his head (the category came later, because I saw it and I thought the image could fit there). That's why I think the green background adds to the composition and it's not disturbing, I feel the colours complement each other well. There is this alternative picture, which is similar but has better focus: Phoenicopterus ruber - 03.jpg. It doesn't show the leg.
