- Support Nice lighting. I would normally complain about rule of thirds here, but for this particular image it doesn't bother me as much. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 23:14, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

- Oppose Just like any coastline; grass, sand, waves and clouds. Looks very gloomy too. :) JKadavoor Jee 04:33, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review. I agree it is a very simple composition - either you like it or you don't. About the light. November is perceived by most Danes as the most depressing month of the year as everything is normally just dark, and grey with a lot of days of cold rain. We say regarding autumn that there is September, October, November, November, November. November just never ends. Although it may appear gloomy, it is way above average November light :-) A few hours later the light looked like this, which is perhaps more typical Novemberish at my location... :-) One of the real masters of this light at the coast of Denmark was the Danish painter P S Krøyer, who worked nearby the location of the photo in Skagen, the Northernmost point of Denmark. --Slaunger (talk) 08:32, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the very informative reply. Yes; I too heard about winter blues, but never experienced here in India. I like the picture in the link you provided. JKadavoor Jee 09:54, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose A pretty picture of a coastline. But other than that, don't find anything eye-catching as such. --Dey.sandip (talk) 08:22, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

- Oppose low sharpness and wow factor, washed-out colours and impression, shady sand. --kaʁstn Disk/Cat 16:42, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- Comment Thanks for your review. I would like to comment on two of the isuses you mention, as I do not agree with them (but of course respect that you have another opinion). The washed-out colours are a trademark of autumn. Actually, I have even given it a step up in saturation to make it look just a little more colourful. If I took the same photo during the summer, the vegetation would be much greener and colourful, but that is not the season I am trying to capture. It is autumn with chilly and rough winds and a salty taste in the mouth by the ocean. If I look at, e.g, or FP gallery of panoramas I notice that the number of autumn panos is very limited. By far most of the outdoor pano FPs are summer time or snow with blue sky FPs. These seasons are more forgiving wrt to being eye-catching and provide "wow", but I also like the virtues of the less colourful and rough autumn season, and I think they have a place in the FP galleries as well. Concerning the shady sand, the band of shade curving thorugh the photo is an important compositional element for me. It provides contrast, and notice that the shadow of the dunes just ends on the beach where the sea begins. I think it is a nice effect. And the shady sand is not so shady that important details are lost. For instance, a WW2 German bunker is clearly seen there. --Slaunger (talk) 20:54, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

- Oppose In favor of the alternative - Benh (talk) 16:37, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- Comment This is what I have always hated about alternatives: One step forth on one version and two steps back on another, which overall gives...one step back in average...which is worse then standing still...from a reviewer who actually has the intention to step forth....in average. The learning lesson is to very carefully prepare the right and best version at nomination time (and stick to that). --Slaunger (talk) 19:14, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
