Info Elliðaey is one of the Westman Islands, and the third largest island in Iceland having an area of 0,45 km2. It is believed to have formed in an eruption about 5-6 thousand years. The island is uninhabited, but there is a hunting lodge, as you can see in the image, constructed in 1953. The island is still privately owned and operated by the Elliðaey Hunting Association and is accessible via a rope on its lower east side and by a boat from the mainland. All by me.
