Thanks Wilfredo. I don't usually get much sun to work with here in the northern UK, so I tend to get over-excited when it finally makes an appearance :) The female is quite a low contrast subject - in fact it normally looks fairly dull - and I think direct sunlight works to "lift" it here; however, I'll investigate tweaking the contrast in the original and see how it looks.
