•  Info The foundation of the Monastery of San Pietro in Assisi is documented in 1029 AD. At the center of the apse stands a large wooden crucifix from the 15th century made by an unknown craftsman. It is one of the many wooden crucifixes of the Middle Ages. Only a little later, in the period of the beginning of the Renaissance (1500-1550), the authors begin to get noticed and undertake to create their works that will be attributed to them forever (a sort of copyright that gave value to the work).
