Summary[edit]

Description
English: Sixteen notable mountains of the world are shown next to each other, with sea level at the bottom of the image. Because the image uses data from NASA and the USGS, the shapes, colors, and sizes of these mountains can be compared, instead of just their elevations. Data processing was performed using GDAL, Meshlab, and custom scripts, and the rendering was done with Radiance. Mountains include: Mt. Everest, K2, Nanga Parbat, Rakaposhi, Aconcagua, Denali, Mt. Logan, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Elbrus, Mont Blanc, Mt. Rainier, Pikes Peak, Mt. Fuji, Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Washington.
