Rezydencja pochodzi z 1878 roku i została nazwana od imienia księcia Massuda Mirzy, syna Nasera ad-Din Szah Kadżara, szacha Iranu. Na początku XX wieku w budynku mieściła się pierwsza irańska biblioteka i muzeum.
