English: Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (BGE) is one of the most rapidly growing fields of science and technology in the world. To meet the growing demands of graduates in this field, BGE department was established in JU in 2010. After realizing its high impact on national economy, the former Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Sharif Enamul Kabir decided to open this department with the aim of making it a world-class high standard academic as well as research department. BGE has a mission to create highly competent graduates, so that they can serve the country’s various biotech related academic and industrial sectors and in abroad as well.
BGE department is engaged in research, focusing various disciplines including plant biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, cancer epidemiology, biomedical and regenerative medicine and bioinformatics. |
